What to Wear What to Wear?
Clothing choice is a very important part of creating beautiful timeless portraits. If you would like to keep with a classic look, avoid logos, stripes, or other distracting patterns or color combinations. Textured clothing is a nice choice - sweaters, corduroy, etc. for fall and winter, and little slip dresses for girls or denim overalls with or without shirt for boys in spring/summer. Bare feet are always preferred.
If, however, you were considering a more trendy look for your children, that is fine too and a lot of fun. Feel free to bring multiple changes of clothing or even put all the ideas in a bag and bring them. Feel free to bring some extras such as knit hats, scarves, favorite toys for some more variety and fun.
For maternity and newborn sessions, black and white tops are the very best to bring for both you and your husband. Snug fitting jeans that we won't zip or button, just fold them down. Pretty lacy things are a great idea as well. Modern lacy funky tops like camisoles, tanks lingerie, sweaters are wonderful. Long flowing skirts work as well. I have all of the fabric wraps in many different colors to choose from so you don't have to bring anything at all. You are welcome to bring outfits for the newborns but bare babies tend to be the focus for the majority of the photos. Little hats, blankets and stuffed animals are great for the little ones as well.
Maternity
Maternity sessions should take place about 6 weeks before your due date.
This session is offered on site or in my studio and takes about 30 to 45 minutes.
I offer a very relaxed environment and invite you to bring in your favorite CD to play while we are creating your artwork. If you have any other children or animals, feel free to bring them in to be included in the photo shoot as well. You are welcome to bring different outfits. Delivery
The delivery stage of my photography is surely the most exciting one!
I offer this service to women who deliver at Huntsville Hospital only. Working hand in hand with doctors and nurses makes it easy to maintain my unobtrusiveness during the entire event. My service allows dad to put down the camera and care for mom during this stressful time. I am authorized to go into the nursery with dad and document baby's first bath, the first of many diaper changes and all of the other spontaneous precious moments that happen when life is just beginning.
I am also authorized to go into the operating room if you have a cesarean section.
It is such an honor to be a part of these miraculous first moments of life and the art that will represent this precious time will stay in your hearts forever. These photographs are for you and I always obey your wishes. Some choose for me to wait to take photos until after baby is born, some want the very moment baby arrives in the world and others prefer me to start taking photographs once baby is put on mom's tummy.
I live and work 5 minutes from the hospital so I can be there in about 7 minutes.

Newborn
I suggest doing the newborn session about a week or so after the delivery. This is a priceless time when you have such a tiny sleepy bundle of joy that just wants to cuddle. If you want your newborn to have that "curled" look in his/her photos, please understand that babies are best photographed during the first two weeks after birth. During this time, they "curl" and have that special freshly born look that won't be there for long. I strive for comfort and creativity during this session and take as much time needed to obtain the most unique and precious photographs that you will cherish for years to come. Feel free to bring blankets, stuffed animals or any other props you would like to be photographed with. If you choose not to be photographed with your baby, it is still a good idea to bring a long sleeve white or black shirt so you can hold the baby for some of the photographs. I know this may be a time that mom doesn't feel her prettiest so lighting and specific poses are used to highlight the best features.
WATCH ME GROW!
The first year of your baby's life will bring wonderful growth and changes that you will want to remember and treasure forever. What better way than with the Watch Me Grow baby plan. This plan starts after the newborn session and covers the next four photo sessions typically at the following stages: 3, 6, 9 or 12 months old.
This is definitely our most popular plan. This plan will help you not only to save on session fees, but will also give you access to significantly discounted portrait collections that will save even more on your baby's portraits. As a member of the baby plan you will receive a 8x10 coffee table style album after your baby's one year session as well as a DVD Slideshow with all of your favorite images from all of your sessions.
The transition set to music is heartwarming and a bit tear jerking! We can do any of these sessions in studio or outdoors although it is not recommended to do outdoor photographs until your baby can sit up on his/her own.
Ordering appointment
Your ordering appointment will be scheduled 2 weeks after your session at which time you will be shown 25-35 images from your session in the form of a beautiful slideshow. Orders will be taken at that time, therefore please make sure all parties involved in the decision making process will be present.
A $100 minimum print order is required. After the minimum print order has been met, an online gallery will be available for two weeks for friends and family to view and make purchases as they wish. There is a $25 fee to republish the online gallery for an additional two weeks after it has expired.
